Ishema Ryacu walk in Kigali
Hundreds of Rwandans joined members of PSF to walk for Ishema Ryacu campaign all over the country. Gasabo and Nyarugenge residents walked from Kanogo while Kicukiro residents departed from the district office and the two groups gathered at Gikondo EXPO ground.
On the banners of protestors, you could read “Our Nation, Our Pride. You will delay us but we shall reach the destination. Justice turned into political tool by the West. We say no to west arrogance towards Rwanda and its people. We say no to selective justice. Our unity is our strengths…” among others.
Claver Mugabo PSF Vice Chairman
At the end of the walk, the vice chairman of PSF Mr. Claver Mugabo said that this event is the continuation of Ishema Ryacu campaign to denounce west arrogance towards Rwanda and look for home-grown solution to the pay the bail imposed to Lt. Gen. Karenzi Karake.
He revealed that since the beginning of this campaign, members of PSF have collected over than 810,000,000Rwf and voluntary donation is underway countrywide. “Our target is to collect more than 1 million pounds and we will contribute to the payments of the lawyers and air tickets for people who want to travel to UK for support where necessary”, said Mugabo.
MinisterBusingye briefing the audience
Speaking at the occasion, the Guest of honor, the Minister of Justice Johnston Busingye briefed the audience about Karake’s situation in UK and the background of judicial procedures. “Karake is fine and we hope to win the trial”, he said.
He lauded this initiative and stressed that Ishema Ryacu should be a National Brand that identifies the resilience of Rwandans, which needs to extend its wings to other African countries. “This should stay our brand and no translation is needed.” He added.
