Government lauds PSF for its contribution to Agaciro Development Fund

The Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning (MINECOFIN) in collaboration with Private Sector Federation (PSF) and Agaciro Development Fund organized on Friday June 12th 2015 in SERENA Hotel a joint meeting where the members of PSF were invited.

The aim of this meeting was to share with the business community members the Agaciro Development Fund’s achievements in a spirit to renew the momentum for growth and sustainability.

On the occasion, PSF members have committed to regularize their support to Agaciro Development Fund. The pledge was made by the chairman of the Board of Directors of PSF, Mr. Benjamin Gasamagera who congratulated members for their contribution estimated at 6,231,626,164 Rwf million since the Fund was launched in 2012 by the President of the Republic of Rwanda Paul Kagame.

“PSF members, employers with their employees have contributed significantly to this fund”, said Gasamagera. He added that the federation and members’ efforts are going to be renewed to support Agaciro Fund as it will increase savings and promote investment.

Members of PSF committed to continue to support the fund voluntarily on a regular basis by giving between 2% to 5% of their revenues for the benefit of all Rwandans.

The meeting was chaired by Hon. Claver Gatete, the Minister of Finance who thanked PSF members for their support to Agaciro Fund. The Minister stated that the government acknowledges their contribution in Rwanda’s journey towards ownership and fast-tracking of its development.

At the same occasion, the Fund’ CEO, Mr. Vianney Kagabo said that since its establishment in August 2012, the Fund has extended to 26.5 Rwf billion and inflows from contributions and investments are increasing.
